As much as we love our camper vans - sometimes it can get a little too cramped inside. With the SpaceCamper rear tent, you can now easily create more space. Simply attach the tent to the tailgate and you have the perfect storage option. Magnetic or press studs (depending on the model), hooks, zippers and Velcro fasteners hold the tent securely to the tailgate. This means that the space behind the camper van can be ideally used as rain and privacy protection, overnight storage for the dog or as a shower cubicle. Because if you have a shower with a water connection at the rear of the car, you can shower here comfortably and out of sight. The combination with the SpaceCamper mosquito net is also an advantage here, as the mosquito net optimally protects the inside of the Bulli from water splashes.

The rear tent for the VW T6.1, T6 and T5 is available in two versions:
for the VW California (also suitable for Caravelle Comfort/Highline, Multivan)
for the VW Transporter (also suitable for Caravelle Trendline)

This is how the rear tent is attached:

For VW Transporter: Replace the screws from the tailgate trim with plastic clips with metal ball pin.

For VW California: Mount special magnetic holders on the tailgate (see instructions point 5)

To attach the tent, first attach hooks to the hinge of the tailgate

Guide past the gas strut of the tailgate on the outside

Attach using plastic clips or magnetic buttons

Attach the metal ring to the tailgate lock

And then repeat the whole thing for the second half

Optionally, the rear tent can be fixed to the floor using straps on the lower edge

Good to know :

The rear tent is supplied in a matching packing bag, which allows it to be stowed in a pack size of 35 x 30 x 7 cm. Unlike the rear tent in the SpaceCamper conversion, this retrofit rear tent cannot be stowed in the tailgate. The rear tent can be cleaned by hand at up to 40° C.
